Staying Warm in the Cold.

So hello to all you people out there surfing the internet. If you're bored (which seems to be the norm when browsing) I hopefully cant find a way to entertain you, or at least make you say, "Ah, cool", even if just for a second.

So although it has been pretty cold, dead, and ugly here in Knoxville for a few months, that hasn't stopped me from going through some of my old stuff and maybe doing a bit (often a lot) in photoshop to them for your viewing pleasure.

But before hand, I just want to say, don't think I only enjoy taking a picture just to alter it in an editing software, no. I really do enjoy the very essence of going out, taking a picture, and leaving it the way it is. That, in fact, is more often than not, my main goal. I primarily take pictures for them to never even see a Photoshop or LightRoom program, but instead, printable the second the shutter clicks upward from the exposure.

Photoshopping is in, and of itself, its own art form. I do it mostly to shoot the breeze.

I say this mainly because most of these photos are pretty heavily tweaked. But like I said, it's cold and nasty outside and pictures would come out pitiful haha.

Also, for my Monoprint class, we're doing some, well, prints? Anyway, I did these today as well. Took me a while, but I liked how they turned out. The first one (with the guy and a mic) isn't finished yet, I still have to add color and background. It was fun though!

So that's all from me for now! I'll post again soon!

Go into the world and show what you really stand for. Show it that there is something greater in this existence than the idols of this world.

Hey everyone! I know it's been a while, but I'm back!

I unfortunately haven't had much time this semester to take a lot of pictures, but I have found some that I hope you guys enjoy!

"My Savior"

"Speed of Sound"

"Weston's Talent"

"Streets of My Dreams"

"Froggy"

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams"

"Feets and Sandals"

"Ponder"

"In the Candle Light"

"Helping Hands"

"Dear Sister..."

Anyway, I really hope you guys enjoyed them. I'm open to comments, criticisms, so on and so forth.

And if you don't know, I am finishing up this semester this week and then heading back home to Memphis! Hopefully I will be able to dive into my photography some more to better please all my avid followers (haha just kidding, I know there's probably not a lot of you out there, but you're still very important and special to me!)

I want to close with a quote from Oswald Chambers I recently have stumbled upon. This, to me, sums up the philosophy I not only put into my work and art, but also strive to incorporate in the everyday, in happy and sad times, the now.

"The moments I truly live are the moments when I act with my entire will [for God]."
-Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest

Thank you all once again for taking the time to take an interest in my work. May God bless you in this upcoming season of rejoicing.

This Heart...

What is a heart really? Is it simply an organ to help you live?

Or, Is it something to help you realize that this world is something more... For C.S. Lewis says that love is in essence worthless, but, it makes this world worth living... Your heart is what enables love towards others... Towards God. Towards those around you.

Love, which is a "cliche" word to the rest of the world, is a word I chose to live my life by. Love is my anthem. This world throws me all kinds of obstacles, obstacles I must overcome.

The only way to overcome them, I have found, is to hold on to these loves, and push forward, no matter the cost. I have always found my strength in them...

This heart was done by my sister, Emma Stewart, by the way. She is in 4th grade and already I can see her amazing art, no?=)

Yours truly,

-Taylor Stewart

Here's to new beginnings...

So it's 6:30 am, the day of my exam. After feeling fully confident, I decided to get on the computer. What did I stumble upon? My old buddy, the blog=).

But I just want to update you on some of the things that have happened through pictures and misc. quotes I have chosen to place in here too.

"There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle, or you can live as if everything is a miracle." -Albert Einstein

I don't know if any of you know a guy named Weston Duke, but this is him in the picture. We took this at Alpine. He brother just recently passed, so please pray for comfort for him and his family, that they may continue to have complete and utter faith in our Holy God. Thank you guys.

Clark Tower in Memphis, TN, after I returned home from Alpine. Katie and I know where the cool spots to hang out are ha.

A verse that has completely rocked and changed my life...

"For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone," declares the LORD, "So turn, and live."
Ezekiel 18:32

So turn and live... What's this truly mean? I seem to ask myself that a lot... Well I think Oswald Chambers can help us out. He says,

"The moments I truly live are the moments I act with my entire will (for Him)."

Can we truly live? I don't know. I do know, however, I can sure try. I know I can love the God of the heavens my every breath until they run out. I can strive for something better. This life is meaningless with out Christ. I will end with my favorite quote ever:

"Love has no monetary value in this life... Although love, friendship, and faith and in essence worthless, they are what make this life worth living." -C.S. Lewis

I broke into a building...

So a few buddies and I broke into an abandoned dorm... One that is really creepy and desolate. Not the best. Well It was Danny and I the first time. Then, we started to go down to the basement, and freaked out. So we came back at like midnight to go down there with Becca, Chongmyong, and Matt. We were ready! With Danny's army skills and his big knife haha. Anyway, we found this huge network of underground pipes! It was seriously like the size of a Super Walmart underground! It was crazy! So these are just a few pictures from that incident, so yeah=).

Talk about breaking boundaries, Zoe=)!

One of the desolate rooms that looks over pedestrian walkway.

The entrance to the dark creepy basement...

The HUGE underground network going forever!!!

Some parts of it. It was insane ya'll.

Sorry I've been slacking on the blog. I'm moving out of my dorm in 3 days, so I'm trying to make the best out of my time here. I promise I will be strong and on again after I'm through=).

Breaking Boundaries

So her is the story behind this piece. When someone mentioned breaking boundaries, I decided to do this first one and second one. They coincide with each other. The first is of a man who hates his job and wants to do something else. He breaks the boundaries by finally realizing he doesn't want this life anymore, and runs away from corporate. Then, the second, the man realizes what he want's. His idea sparks and he runs to where he wants to be in life, something many people don't do. Breaking Boundaries...

These next few are just some random ones I threw in. Dad, I figured you'd like the first one hahaha.

Hope you liked them. Any more ideas for me to do???

Something Different

So today I'm doing something different. I have a little notebook I like to write in and I put a few pages on here. Those are the focus. I have included pictures, and I hope you enjoy them, but check out the entries. You can click on the pictures to make them bigger if you didn't already know.

So yeah. Some of that has just been on my mind. It's my emo diary=). Anyway, I hope you enjoyed today. I'm sorry, but I will fulfill the request given to me on tomorrow's post!
I have an exam tonight and do not really have time to go out and take pictures today ha ha.

Till tomorrow! Love you guys

4.27.2009

Hello all. So today is a lot of black and whites I took yesterday along with something I drew the other night. They all have pretty much very different composures, so what style do you like the best? I'm curious to know. Tell me, and I'll try to put more up that you like.

You know what? Let's go crazy. Tell me what YOU want a picture of either on here or on Facebook, and I'll try my best to go take a picture of it in my own styles and put my own twist to it. This will be fun!

Anyway, enough of me talking. That's not why you're here, right? You want pictures haha. Well here you go! Enjoi!

Okay, so I know there are those people who don't like me naming things, but I'm breaking that one here! This first one is called The Shadow of Freedom.

This next one is called The Face of Freedom.

For some reason I was feeling really emo the other night and thought it would be a good idea to draw V... Several times. Something about the curves of his face and the mysteriousness about him. I guess sometimes I can relate. I put a mask on so no one can see my true self, but instead, the things I do that aren't me. I hate this, but at the same time love it. I know this doesn't make any sense right now. It's early and I barely slept last night=).

Anyways. Thanks again for always being so cool to check this thing out. Love you guys!

Artsy Fartsy Kinda Thangs

If I were to ever offend some of you with my pictures, I figured today would probably be the most offending day haha. With bright colors, plain pictures, and things that don't really make sense. Anyway, with that said, Enjoi!!!

This is an HDR Image of the Smokey's. I climbed up on this 200ft. slope that said "DO NOT CLIMB" to get this picture! I almost died from slipping slate and granite like 20 times! I don't know if I explained what an HDRI is, but basically I took 6 of the same picture of different shutter speeds, producing different light and dark pictures, and combined them to make this one!

If you couldn't tell this was edited... Somethings wrong. No, this was in Downtown Memphis. It was one of my last days before college and me and my mommy went out to eat, and I took this. It's a column that was orange, red, and yellow.

This is just simply of my desk. And if you were wondering, that is the same cup 4 times in the same picture haha!

I just want to thank you guys again for checking this out! I really love you guys=).

OH! And Monday I should be adding some of my drawings I've been doing! A lot of interesting stuff. I dunno what's gotten into me recently haha. Well, stick around till Monday and check out some of my sketches! Later faithful fans!

Here's to that someone who got upset...

So people got mad at me for not posting yesterday. That made me really happy, and I love you guys! Today, I did somethings kind different. Some you may not like, and some are kind of plain. I know that, but it's nature and you can't really photoshop the wilderness. You must accept them for the beauty they are and the way God created them. Also, these first are a shoot out to someone who used to live in Chat. I took these when I stayed with you guys=).

I will say I obviously didn't take this picture of these African kids. Obviously. I have never been to Africa. It's more of just an artsy experiment I guess. If you look closely, you can see the TOMS logo wrapping around the faces and bodies of the children. It fits with them=). This one is a shout out to my buddy in Dallas, because CSM is where I first found out about TOMS!

This last one is an HDRI (High Dynamic Range Image). Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers ever, so I thought I'd send this one out there=).
